samsung is a hit
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I highly recommend this TV to anyone who values high picture quality, very little artifacting (stuttering, shuddering, etc). The bezel attracts a lot of dust, but we have 2 cats, so we probably have more hair/dust flying around than most people. Very nice TV for the price. I use my laptop with an hdmi connection to run the TV. Everything looks great and works well. The sound quality is definitely above-par for a TV, but ofcourse can’t really compare to proper sound system. Lots of options and settings to tweak in the menus, which can be a little overwhelming, but I really appreciate them. Has a network connection (wired, or optional wireless), but it is only for media sharing capabilities, this TV does not support streaming Netflix. This was a bit of a disappointment for me, because I read a review where they said it does support outside movie rentals. Oh well, aside from that, I think it is a good buy
Samsung, please stop making tvs!

This is my third Samsung TV. The first one lasted all of 2 years, the second one less than that and the third lasted 3 years. I think it’s ridiculous that you pay $1600 every couple years for a new tv because the one you bought is a piece of junk.
We also had a Samsung refrigerator that busted one month after the warranty ran out and a microwave that was repaired 2 times before the warranty wore out and then died shortly after.
I will be steering clear of their products.
Notice how they stop making a certain model of tv after 6 months? It’s so that people can’t review their products after actually using them for a reasonable amount of time. Of course your tv works for the first few months.
I can’t even get parts to fix them, they were made to break and be replaced, not repaired.
High Quality TV

Product Excellent, Delivery Very Poor

After waiting approximately 3 weeks to receive my purchase, I have enjoyed the quality of the Samsung 40″ tv. Price paid was fair, but not a bargain.
A great TV with awesome features

Had this for about 6 weeks now and have only got great things to say about. Picture quality is first rate with the 120hz refresh really making images vivid. With my 1080 upscaling DVD player you feel like you can reach through the screen to the people and objects. Just got the BD-C5500 blu-rayer player on special from Amazon to match and it is a great combo. This TV blows away the 2007 Panasonic 42′ Professional Series TH-42PHD8UK in our living room.
The only minor issues I have found are:
- Ability to resize pictures, particularly from video files, is very limited compared with the TH-42PHD8UK.
- The built in ability to decode video file formats is great but limited (no .mov, some AVI codecs unsupported). It sometimes crashes and changes device.
Cheers
Very happy with this TV

I’ve had it for 2 weeks and not a problem. It looks great and has everything I wanted. The price is a little higher then I wanted to spend but it was well worth it.
WARNING, AVOID SAMSUNG AT ALL COSTS

I recently purchased the Samsung LN40C630 model after searching the web for months. Amazon had the best price so I pulled the trigger. I received the TV very quickly and unpacked the box and started assembling the stand. After assembling the stand I began to attach the bracket from the stand to the back of the TV. Unfortunately it did not fit and after looking at it closer it was obviously for a different tv. I began looking at the other items in the box a bit closer. It was then I noticed the owner manual, and remote were also for a different TV(5 series, 46 inch tv I later found out). The stand as it turns out was for yet another model. Frustrated I called Amazon and they advised me to contact Samsung which I did. SAMSUNG customer reps were useless and told me that all of the parts in the box (excluding the tv) were incorrectly packaged…. I asked them how could this happen, they of course never heard of this happening ever. Anyways they told me they would send new parts. 2 weeks later, after waiting patiently, the parts arrived and they were for the wrong TV.
At this point I was furious so I called AMAZON and after explaining the situation they told me a replacement TV would be sent right away. A few days later I got a 2nd TV, opened the box and lo and behold the same thing, all different parts. I called AMAZON and told them I wanted a refund,(which they promptly did) and they sent someone to picked up the old TV’s.
Moral of the story save your money, time and energy and don’t buy SAMSUNG products. Obviously they have serious quality control issues, customer service problems and other issues. Just google SAMSUNG problems/customer service and you will see I am not alone. Pray that you never have a problem with SAMSUNG products and have to call their customer service number.
Best part of the transaction was getting my money back. Hope to buy a Sony or Panasonic soon..

I have had the TV for about a month. It was delivered as promised and set up. I did not notice at the time of delivery that there is a crack on the case and I don’t know who to contact to fix it. The picture is clear and I receive more channels than I get with comcast because i also receive some HD channels. I am not a sound expert so I am satisfied, although I have read other reviews that do not like the sound and add their own speakers. I have not read all the directions but what I want is easily operable.
Beautiful picture, quality tv

I love this TV, it was easy to set up , easy to use, terrific picture quality, great value. I bought a 40″ should have picked up a bigger one but this was what I wanted to pay, no regrets.
Amazing picture quality

I’ve had the Samsung LN40c630 for about a month and it has an truly amazing picture quality. It rivals and I feel surpasses image quality of far more expensive products. It is most likely the best product for the money I’ve ever purchased and this comes from a highly skeptical consumer.
